Mother's Day Dinner

Slow-roasted, with olive oil, salt and pepper. Simple. Really, really good.

Roast potatoes with olive oil, salt, pepper and onion (added about halfway through cooking. We call them Frog potatoes because the initial recipe, which I'm pretty sure we have long since diverged from, came from the Frog Commisary Cookbook. Sooooo good.

Arugula fennel salad, dressed with salt, olive oil and lemon juice. Sigh. I love that sour, peppery crisp combination.

Eclairs from Le Fournil. The filling is almost a chocolate mousse.

Cherry pie from the Madison Park Bakery. We realized some time ago that for our children, chocolate after dinner is a veryveryvery bad idea. And pie makes them happy. If you get right down to it, pie makes most people happy.

I need to get the children to bed and lie down on the floor in something with an elastic waist.
